The San Diego Surfing Hall of Fame is delighted to promote the annual Ken Whalen Surf Challenge, an event truly dedicated to celebrating Ken’s profound love for family, surfing, and the beach. This challenge isn’t just a competition; it’s a vibrant day designed to encourage young surfers, including CAF adaptive surfers and Rady Children’s Hospital Cancer Families, to deepen their connection with the ocean through friendly competition and a fun-filled beach day.
Geared specifically towards beginner and intermediate surfers aged 3 to 14, the Ken Whalen Surf Challenge emphasizes participation and enjoyment over intense competition. It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to strengthen their surfing skills, make new friends, and build lasting beach memories in a supportive and encouraging environment.
